Matlou Mabokano is a seasoned technology development and commercialization professional with over 15 years of experience. He has worked in both the public sector and as an intermediary for technopreneurs in the small business sector, focusing on the commercialization of innovative technology solutions, particularly in the mining sector. His expertise spans research and development, science and innovation policy, legislation and strategy development, as well as development finance administration. Prior to his current role at SARAO since August 2023, Mr. Mabokano managed a small business that assisted technopreneurs in commercializing intellectual property and provided advisory services for growth and development strategies. He holds a BSc in Chemical Engineering and a Masters in Business Leadership (MBL) from the University of Cape Town and UNISA School of Business Leadership (SBL). Additionally, he has a passion for road and trail running and walking.
